A4 Magazine PSD Mockup
What's inside

This A4 magazine mockup is a quick way to show a company newsletter without a photo shoot.
It’s a handy file for design students and editorial designers. One thing worth knowing: keep text at least a few millimetres from the edge. The mockup shows the trim, and cramped margins read as a mistake.
Clients sign off faster when they can picture the finished piece, and a flat PDF rarely does that as well as a photo of the magazine.
Works well for
- A company newsletter
- A magazine cover
- An editorial spread
The file is made by a designer on Behance. The download button takes you to their page, where you get the original file and the licence details.
What you can edit in this A4 Magazine Mockup
Open it in Photoshop and you can change:
- Your design, placed through the smart object
- Shadows and highlights on their own layers
- Paper texture you can turn up or down
Editing the A4 Magazine Mockup, step by step
- Export your artwork as a high-resolution PNG or JPG, around 300 ppi at print size.
- Open the file in Photoshop and double-click the smart object thumbnail in the Layers panel.
- Paste your design, resize it to fill the area, then save (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close that tab.
- Change the background or paper colour with the colour layer.
- Export a full-size image for your portfolio and a smaller one for social media.
Worth remembering: if the paper has texture, drop the opacity of your art by a few percent so the grain shows through.

Questions about this mockup
Is it free for commercial use?
That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.
How do I put my artwork on the magazine?
Find the smart object layer (it has a small icon on its thumbnail), double-click it, place your design, then save and close that tab.
Which Photoshop version do I need?
A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.
Will my artwork look printed or pasted on?
Most print mockups keep the paper texture and lighting on separate layers above your design, so it takes on the grain and shadows. If it still looks too clean, lower the opacity of your artwork a little.
