This snapback cap mockup is one of the simpler ways to present a small patch design or a side mark convincingly.

It’s a handy file for sports teams and merch shops. One thing worth knowing: caps show logos small and curved; a simplified version of the mark reads much better than the full logo.

Selling merch online without photos of every colour is hard; a good apparel mockup fills that gap until the samples arrive.

Credit goes to GraphicBurger. We link to their download page rather than re-uploading the file, so check their terms there before commercial use.

What you can edit in this Snapback Cap Mockup

The PSD is layered, so you can change:

  • Print design, placed through the smart object
  • Shadows and highlights
  • Background colour

How to use the Snapback Cap Mockup

  1. Prepare the graphic flat, without shadows or fake texture. The mockup adds those.
  2. Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
  3. Paste your design, resize it to fill the area, then save (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close that tab.
  4. Lower the print opacity a touch if it looks too sharp on the folds.
  5. Save a JPG for clients and social media, and keep the PSD for later changes.

If the print looks too sharp, a very slight blur (0.3 px) makes it sit into the fabric.

Where the Snapback Cap Mockup works best

  • Use it as the cover image for a small patch design in your portfolio.
  • Show a side mark to a client before it goes to print or production.
  • Present an embroidered logo in a client proposal or brand guide.

Before you download

  • Made by GraphicBurger. The download size and format are listed on their page.
  • Check the smart object size before you design, so your artwork fits without stretching.
  • Some free mockups ask for credit when you post them. A short line in your caption is enough.

Questions about this mockup

Is it free for commercial use?

GraphicBurger sets the licence, and it can differ from file to file. Many free files allow personal and commercial use, but some are personal-only or ask for credit. Read the terms on the download page before a paid project.

How do I add my design?

Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.

Which Photoshop version do I need?

A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.

Does the print follow the fabric folds?

Better apparel mockups use a displacement map or warp so the print follows the wrinkles. Check the preview: if the folds show through the logo, it does.
