Need to show a wedding invitation to a client? This classic invitation card mockup does the job in a few minutes.

Useful for event planners as much as for wedding stationers. Tip: export your artwork at the size the smart object asks for; scaling a small file up is the usual reason print mockups look soft.

It also makes a good cover image for a Behance or Dribbble post, where the first thumbnail decides whether anyone clicks. If you’re building a full identity, pair it with an envelope or letterhead mockup for a matching set.

This is a free file from Graphic Google. When you click download you’ll land on their page to grab it.

What’s inside the Classic Invitation Card Mockup PSD

The PSD is layered, so you can change:

  • Your design, placed through the smart object
  • Paper texture you can turn up or down
  • Shadows and highlights on their own layers

Editing the Classic Invitation Card Mockup, step by step

  1. Get your artwork ready at print size, with 1/8 inch of bleed if it runs to the edge.
  2. Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
  3. Drop your artwork in, fit it to the canvas, save and close. The mockup updates by itself.
  4. Change the background or paper colour with the colour layer.
  5. Export with File › Export › Export As: JPG for sharing, PNG for the web.

If the paper has texture, drop the opacity of your art by a few percent so the grain shows through.

Questions about this mockup

What licence does it come with?

It's free to download, but the licence belongs to Graphic Google. Check their page: it states whether commercial use is allowed and if attribution is needed.

How do I add my design?

Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.

Which Photoshop version do I need?

A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.

Can I show both sides?

It depends on the file. Many print mockups include a front and a back smart object; the preview usually shows whether both sides are visible.
