What's inside

  • Applications Photoshop
  • File Types PSD
  • License Free (see author's terms)

A flawless business card mockup, made for presenting a front and back card design. Drop in your artwork and the lighting and shadows stay as they are.

Branding studios and small businesses tend to get the most out of files like this. One thing worth knowing: use CMYK-friendly colours in the artwork itself, even though the mockup is RGB, so what the client sees is close to print.

Seeing a layout on a real business card is also the easiest way to catch problems early. A phone number that looked fine on screen can turn out too small once it sits on paper. If you’re building a full identity, pair it with an envelope or letterhead mockup for a matching set.

Credit goes to Graphic Google. We link to their download page rather than re-uploading the file, so check their terms there before commercial use.

What’s inside the Flawless Business Card Mockup PSD

Main things you can change in Photoshop:

  • Your design, placed through the smart object
  • Paper or background colour
  • Front and back artwork, where both sides are shown

Editing the Flawless Business Card Mockup, step by step

  1. Set up the design flat at the real print size and keep text inside a safe margin.
  2. In the Layers panel, find the layer with the small smart object icon and double-click it.
  3. Place your design, hide the sample artwork, save, and go back to the main file.
  4. Change the background or paper colour with the colour layer.
  5. Export with File › Export › Export As: JPG for sharing, PNG for the web.

Worth remembering: dark designs often look flat on paper mockups. Turning the highlight layer up slightly brings back the sheen.

Questions about this mockup

Can I use this business card mockup for client work?

It's free to download, but the licence belongs to Graphic Google. Check their page: it states whether commercial use is allowed and if attribution is needed.

How do I add my design?

Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.

Which Photoshop version do I need?

A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.

Can I show both sides?

It depends on the file. Many print mockups include a front and a back smart object; the preview usually shows whether both sides are visible.
