Portrait Canvas Mockup

What's inside

  • Applications Photoshop
  • File Types PSD
  • License Free (see author's terms)
  • Author Original Mockups

Need to show a painting to a client? This portrait canvas mockup does the job in a few minutes.

Useful for print shops as much as for photographers. Tip: keep the glass reflection layer on. It is small, but it’s what makes the frame look real.

Print sellers on Etsy and similar shops use images like this as the main listing photo, because buyers want to see the piece on a wall. Show two or three prints from the same series in matching frames for a gallery-wall look.

Credit goes to Original Mockups. We link to their download page rather than re-uploading the file, so check their terms there before commercial use.

Portrait Canvas Mockup: editable parts

Open it in Photoshop and you can change:

  • Artwork, placed through the smart object
  • Glass reflection layer
  • Shadows on the wall

Add your design to the Portrait Canvas Mockup

  1. Choose artwork with the same ratio as the frame (often 2:3, 3:4, 4:5 or an A-size).
  2. Open the file in Photoshop and double-click the smart object thumbnail in the Layers panel.
  3. Drop your artwork in, fit it to the canvas, save and close. The mockup updates by itself.
  4. Export a full-size image for your portfolio and a smaller one for social media.

Another tip: pick a print size that matches the frame’s ratio; stretched or cropped art gives the game away.

Where the Portrait Canvas Mockup works best
