A wedding envelope looks better on a vertical string envelope mockup than on a white artboard, and this mockup is set up for exactly that.

It’s a handy file for wedding designers and branding studios. A small tip: if the paper has texture, drop the opacity of your art by a few percent so the grain shows through.

Clients sign off faster when they can picture the finished piece, and a flat PDF rarely does that as well as a photo of the envelope.

Use it for

  • A wedding envelope
  • A branded mailer
  • A return address and logo

This is a free file from Pixpine. When you click download you’ll land on their page to grab it.

What you can edit in this Vertical String Envelope Mockup

Everything below is on its own layer:

  • Your design, placed through the smart object
  • Paper or background colour
  • Paper texture you can turn up or down
  • Front and back artwork, where both sides are shown

Editing the Vertical String Envelope Mockup, step by step

  1. Export your artwork as a high-resolution PNG or JPG, around 300 ppi at print size.
  2. Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
  3. Place your design, hide the sample artwork, save, and go back to the main file.
  4. Export a full-size image for your portfolio and a smaller one for social media.

Use CMYK-friendly colours in the artwork itself, even though the mockup is RGB, so what the client sees is close to print.

Ways to use this Vertical String Envelope Mockup

  • Share a return address and logo on Instagram, Behance or Dribbble with a real-looking preview.

Questions about this mockup

What licence does it come with?

It's free to download, but the licence belongs to Pixpine. Check their page: it states whether commercial use is allowed and if attribution is needed.

How do I add my design?

Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.

Which Photoshop version do I need?

A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.

Can I show both sides?

It depends on the file. Many print mockups include a front and a back smart object; the preview usually shows whether both sides are visible.
