What's inside

  • Applications Photoshop
  • File Types PSD
  • License Free (see author's terms)
  • Author GraphicBurger

An ad campaign looks better on a street billboard mockup than on a white artboard, and this mockup is set up for exactly that.

Useful for ad agencies as much as for students pitching campaigns. Match the brightness of your design to the scene; a very bright graphic in a shaded spot looks pasted in.

Showing a campaign in context helps clients see the scale; a design that feels loud on a laptop can look quiet on the street. Combine it with a poster or bus stop ad to show the campaign across several placements.

Works well for

  • An ad campaign
  • A product launch visual
  • A movie poster

Editable options in the Street Billboard Mockup PSD

Open it in Photoshop and you can change:

  • Ad artwork, placed through the smart object
  • Brightness to match the scene
  • Glow layer for backlit scenes, where included

Editing the Street Billboard Mockup, step by step

  1. Check the smart object’s ratio first, then build the ad to match it.
  2. In the Layers panel, find the layer with the small smart object icon and double-click it.
  3. Drop your artwork in, fit it to the canvas, save and close. The mockup updates by itself.
  4. Export with File › Export › Export As: JPG for sharing, PNG for the web.

Worth remembering: night or backlit scenes usually have a glow layer. Push it up for lightboxes, down for printed paper.

Where the Street Billboard Mockup works best

  • Show a product launch visual to a client before it goes to print or production.
  • Use it as the cover image for a movie poster in your portfolio.
  • Make two or three colour versions of an ad campaign and let the client pick.

Before you download

  • Made by GraphicBurger. The download size and format are listed on their page.
  • The preview shows the angle, background and lighting you’ll get.
  • Check the smart object size before you design, so your artwork fits without stretching.
  • Built for Adobe Photoshop. A recent CC version handles the smart objects best.

Questions about this mockup

Is it free for commercial use?

That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.

How do I put my artwork on the billboard?

Find the smart object layer (it has a small icon on its thumbnail), double-click it, place your design, then save and close that tab.

Which Photoshop version do I need?

A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.

Can I change the surroundings?

Usually only lighting and shadows are adjustable. The street, sky or building are part of the photo.

Why does the download open another website?

We list free files from designers around the web and link to the original page, so GraphicBurger gets the visit and you get the file exactly as they published it.
