Label Mockups

This label mockup is one of the simpler ways to present a clothing label or a price tag convincingly.
Good pick for craft sellers, fashion brands or anyone putting together a portfolio. Tip: dark designs often look flat on paper mockups. Turning the highlight layer up slightly brings back the sheen.
Print jobs are expensive to redo, so a realistic preview before the order goes out is cheap insurance.
Credit goes to MockupFree. We link to their download page rather than re-uploading the file, so check their terms there before commercial use.
What’s inside the Label Mockups PSD
The PSD is layered, so you can change:
- Your design, placed through the smart object
- Front and back artwork, where both sides are shown
- Paper or background colour
- Shadows and highlights on their own layers
How to use the Label Mockups
- Set up the design flat at the real print size and keep text inside a safe margin.
- Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
- Drop your artwork in, fit it to the canvas, save and close. The mockup updates by itself.
- Tweak the shadow and highlight layers to suit your colours.
- Save a JPG for clients and social media, and keep the PSD for later changes.
Worth remembering: if the paper has texture, drop the opacity of your art by a few percent so the grain shows through.
Where the Label Mockups works best
- Make two or three colour versions of a clothing label and let the client pick.
- Use it as the cover image for a product label in your portfolio.
- Present a price tag in a client proposal or brand guide.
Good to know
- Made by MockupFree. The download size and format are listed on their page.
- Check the smart object size before you design, so your artwork fits without stretching.
- Check the licence on the author’s page. Personal and commercial terms differ from file to file.
- The preview shows the angle, background and lighting you’ll get.

Questions about this mockup
Is it free for commercial use?
That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.
How do I put my artwork on the label or tag?
Find the smart object layer (it has a small icon on its thumbnail), double-click it, place your design, then save and close that tab.
Do I need Photoshop?
Yes. This is a PSD mockup built with smart objects, so you edit it in Adobe Photoshop. Any recent CC version works.
Will my artwork look printed or pasted on?
Most print mockups keep the paper texture and lighting on separate layers above your design, so it takes on the grain and shadows. If it still looks too clean, lower the opacity of your artwork a little.
Why does the download open another website?
We list free files from designers around the web and link to the original page, so MockupFree gets the visit and you get the file exactly as they published it.
