This brand cap mockup is a quick way to show an embroidered logo without a photo shoot.

Streetwear labels and sports teams tend to get the most out of files like this. A small tip: place the design as a flat PNG with a transparent background, then let the fabric displacement do the folds.

Print-on-demand shops use images like this for listings, so the realism of the folds matters more than people think. Add a hoodie or sweatshirt shot next to it and you have a basic collection page.

Good for

  • An embroidered logo
  • A small patch design
  • A side mark

What you can edit in this Brand Cap Mockup

Everything below is on its own layer:

  • Print design, placed through the smart object
  • Background colour
  • Folds and wrinkles that wrap your print
  • Fabric colour

How to use the Brand Cap Mockup

  1. Save your print as a PNG with a transparent background.
  2. Open the file in Photoshop and double-click the smart object thumbnail in the Layers panel.
  3. Drop your artwork in, fit it to the canvas, save and close. The mockup updates by itself.
  4. Save a JPG for clients and social media, and keep the PSD for later changes.

Worth remembering: caps show logos small and curved; a simplified version of the mark reads much better than the full logo.

Questions about this mockup

Is it free for commercial use?

Ls.Graphics sets the licence, and it can differ from file to file. Many free files allow personal and commercial use, but some are personal-only or ask for credit. Read the terms on the download page before a paid project.

How do I put my artwork on the cap?

Find the smart object layer (it has a small icon on its thumbnail), double-click it, place your design, then save and close that tab.

Which Photoshop version do I need?

A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.

Does the print follow the fabric folds?

Better apparel mockups use a displacement map or warp so the print follows the wrinkles. Check the preview: if the folds show through the logo, it does.

Why does the download open another website?

We list free files from designers around the web and link to the original page, so Ls.Graphics gets the visit and you get the file exactly as they published it.
