Embossed Logo Mockup PSD

What's inside

  • Applications Photoshop
  • File Types PSD
  • License Free (see author's terms)
  • Author Pixelbuddha

An embossed logo mockup, made for presenting a new logo. Drop in your artwork and the lighting and shadows stay as they are. The embossed surface is the main character here, so designs with some contrast stand out best.

Useful for branding studios as much as for logo designers. Use a vector or high-resolution PNG version of the logo; this is the one mockup where every edge is looked at closely.

It helps you test the mark at small sizes and in one colour, which is where weak logos fall apart.

Works well for

  • A new logo
  • A signage concept
  • A brand mark reveal

Main things you can change in Photoshop:

  • Your design, placed through the smart object
  • Front and back artwork, where both sides are shown
  • Shadows and highlights on their own layers

How to use the Embossed Logo Mockup

  1. Set up the design flat at the real print size and keep text inside a safe margin.
  2. In the Layers panel, find the layer with the small smart object icon and double-click it.
  3. Drop your artwork in, fit it to the canvas, save and close. The mockup updates by itself.
  4. Turn the texture layer up or down to match the paper you’ll print on.
  5. Export with File › Export › Export As: JPG for sharing, PNG for the web.

One more thing: export your artwork at the size the smart object asks for; scaling a small file up is the usual reason print mockups look soft.

Where the Embossed Logo Mockup works best

  • Show a brand mark reveal to a client before it goes to print or production.
  • Use it as the cover image for a new logo in your portfolio.
  • Present a signage concept in a client proposal or brand guide.

Questions about this mockup

What licence does it come with?

That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.

How do I add my design?

Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.

Do I need Photoshop?

Yes. This is a PSD mockup built with smart objects, so you edit it in Adobe Photoshop. Any recent CC version works.

Can I show both sides?

It depends on the file. Many print mockups include a front and a back smart object; the preview usually shows whether both sides are visible.
