Here’s a folded paper letter mockup that works well for a report page, a letter and similar projects.

It’s a handy file for print designers and job seekers. A small tip: if the paper has texture, drop the opacity of your art by a few percent so the grain shows through.

Seeing a layout on a real paper is also the easiest way to catch problems early. A phone number that looked fine on screen can turn out too small once it sits on paper. For a complete brand board, show it next to a business card and a notebook.

Pixeden created this one and hosts the download on their own site, so you always get the latest version straight from the source.

What’s inside the Folded Paper Letter Mockup PSD

Open it in Photoshop and you can change:

  • Your design, placed through the smart object
  • Front and back artwork, where both sides are shown
  • Shadows and highlights on their own layers

Add your design to the Folded Paper Letter Mockup

  1. Get your artwork ready at print size, with 1/8 inch of bleed if it runs to the edge.
  2. Open the file in Photoshop and double-click the smart object thumbnail in the Layers panel.
  3. Paste your design, resize it to fill the area, then save (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close that tab.
  4. Save a JPG for clients and social media, and keep the PSD for later changes.

Another tip: export your artwork at the size the smart object asks for; scaling a small file up is the usual reason print mockups look soft.

Questions about this mockup

Is it free for commercial use?

That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.

How do I add my design?

Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.

Which Photoshop version do I need?

A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.

Will my artwork look printed or pasted on?

Most print mockups keep the paper texture and lighting on separate layers above your design, so it takes on the grain and shadows. If it still looks too clean, lower the opacity of your artwork a little.
