This helmet mockup is one of the simpler ways to present a pattern or merch branding convincingly.
Etsy sellers and merch brands tend to get the most out of files like this. A small tip: change the background colour to your brand palette; it does more for the final image than people expect.
Merch and gift ideas are much easier to approve when people can see them on the real object.
Mr.Mockup created this one and hosts the download on their own site, so you always get the latest version straight from the source.
What’s inside the Helmet Mockup PSD
Everything below is on its own layer:
- Logo or artwork, placed through the smart object
- Background colour
- Shadows
- Object colour, where included
How to use the Helmet Mockup
- Export your logo or artwork as a PNG with transparency.
- Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
- Drop your artwork in, fit it to the canvas, save and close. The mockup updates by itself.
- Change the background colour at the bottom of the layer stack.
- Export with File › Export › Export As: JPG for sharing, PNG for the web.
One more thing: use a PNG with transparency for logos so the material around them keeps its texture.
Ways to use this Helmet Mockup
- Show merch branding to a client before it goes to print or production.
- Use it as the cover image for a small logo in your portfolio.
- Share a pattern on Instagram, Behance or Dribbble with a real-looking preview.
Before you download
- Made by Mr.Mockup. The download size and format are listed on their page.
- Built for Adobe Photoshop. A recent CC version handles the smart objects best.
- Some free mockups ask for credit when you post them. A short line in your caption is enough.
- Check the smart object size before you design, so your artwork fits without stretching.

Questions about this mockup
What licence does it come with?
Mr.Mockup sets the licence, and it can differ from file to file. Many free files allow personal and commercial use, but some are personal-only or ask for credit. Read the terms on the download page before a paid project.
How do I add my design?
Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.
Which Photoshop version do I need?
A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.
Can I change the background?
Most object mockups have a background colour or image layer at the bottom of the stack that you can swap.
