Indoor Poster Mockup

What's inside

A movie poster looks better on an indoor poster mockup than on a white artboard, and this mockup is set up for exactly that.

Graphic designers and illustrators tend to get the most out of files like this. One thing worth knowing: match the brightness of your design to the scene; a very bright graphic in a shaded spot looks pasted in.

Showing a campaign in context helps clients see the scale; a design that feels loud on a laptop can look quiet on the street. Show the same visual on a billboard and a flyer to present a consistent campaign.

Works well for

  • A movie poster
  • A gig poster
  • An art print

What’s inside the Indoor Poster Mockup PSD

The PSD is layered, so you can change:

  • Ad artwork, placed through the smart object
  • Glow layer for backlit scenes, where included
  • Lighting and shadow layers

How to use the Indoor Poster Mockup

  1. Check the smart object’s ratio first, then build the ad to match it.
  2. Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
  3. Paste your design, resize it to fill the area, then save (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close that tab.
  4. Check the crop so faces and logos stay inside the frame.
  5. Export with File › Export › Export As: JPG for sharing, PNG for the web.

Night or backlit scenes usually have a glow layer. Push it up for lightboxes, down for printed paper.
