Lightbox Text Effect PSD is a free text effect for a thumbnail title and a headline.
Good pick for game designers, YouTubers or anyone putting together a portfolio. A small tip: short words with bold letterforms carry text effects best. Long sentences lose the effect.
It’s worth keeping a few good text effects in your library for quick jobs where you don’t have time to make one from scratch.
Credit goes to GraphicBurger. We link to their download page rather than re-uploading the file, so check their terms there before commercial use.
How to use it
- Open the PSD in Photoshop.

- Type your text or paste your logo, then save and close.

It's free to download, but the licence belongs to GraphicBurger. Check their page: it states whether commercial use is allowed and if attribution is needed.
Do I need the same font?
The effect works with any font, but the look in the preview depends on the font the author used. If it's missing, Photoshop will ask you to replace it.

Text effects usually sit in a smart object. Double-click it, type your word, save, and the effect updates in the main file.
Why does the download open another website?
We list free files from designers around the web and link to the original page, so GraphicBurger gets the visit and you get the file exactly as they published it.
