Realistic iMac Mockup
What's inside
- Applications Photoshop
- File Types PSD
- License Free (see author's terms)
- Author Designrepos
An iMac mockup, made for presenting a wide dashboard. Drop in your artwork and the lighting and shadows stay as they are.
It’s a handy file for agencies and web designers. Tip: turn the screen glare layer down if your UI has small type. Glare looks nice but hides detail.
A screen inside a real device frame explains a product faster than a raw screenshot, which is why it shows up on so many landing pages and app store listings.
Works well for
- A wide dashboard
- A design system page
- A video thumbnail
Credit goes to Designrepos. We link to their download page rather than re-uploading the file, so check their terms there before commercial use.
Realistic iMac Mockup: editable parts
Everything below is on its own layer:
- Screen design, placed through the smart object
- Screen glare and reflection layers
- Shadow under the device
How to use the Realistic iMac Mockup
- Export your screen design as a PNG at the exact size of the screen smart object.
- Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
- Place your design, hide the sample artwork, save, and go back to the main file.
- Change the background colour to fit your brand.
- Save a JPG for clients and social media, and keep the PSD for later changes.
Another tip: for app store or portfolio images, crop tight around the device so the screen fills most of the frame.

Questions about this mockup
What licence does it come with?
Designrepos sets the licence, and it can differ from file to file. Many free files allow personal and commercial use, but some are personal-only or ask for credit. Read the terms on the download page before a paid project.
How do I put my artwork on the iMac?
Find the smart object layer (it has a small icon on its thumbnail), double-click it, place your design, then save and close that tab.
Which Photoshop version do I need?
A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.
What size should my screenshot be?
Open the screen smart object and check its canvas size in Image › Canvas Size. Paste your screenshot at that size so it stays sharp.
