Paint Bucket Mockup PSD

What's inside

  • Applications Photoshop
  • File Types PSD
  • License Free (see author's terms)
  • Author Mockup Cloud

A paint bucket mockup, made for presenting full packaging artwork. Drop in your artwork and the lighting and shadows stay as they are.

Good pick for food and health brands, product startups or anyone putting together a portfolio. A small tip: check barcodes, weights and small legal text at 100% zoom. Packaging clients always look for those.

It’s also handy for crowdfunding pages and pitch decks, when the product exists but the packaging hasn’t been printed yet.

Good for

  • Full packaging artwork
  • A product label
  • A food container design

The file is made by Mockup Cloud. The download button takes you to their page, where you get the original file and the licence details.

Paint Bucket Mockup: editable parts

Main things you can change in Photoshop:

  • Label or box artwork, placed through the smart object
  • Background colour
  • Shadows
  • Gloss and highlight layers

Add your design to the Paint Bucket Mockup

  1. Finish the label first, with barcode and small print in place.
  2. Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
  3. Place your design, hide the sample artwork, save, and go back to the main file.
  4. Change the base colour of the pack.
  5. Save a JPG for clients and social media, and keep the PSD for later changes.

Build the label or dieline flat first, then place it; bending text inside the mockup is harder to fix later.

Where the Paint Bucket Mockup works best

  • Show a product label on your online shop or product page.
  • Make two or three colour versions of full packaging artwork and let the client pick.
  • Share a food container design on Instagram, Behance or Dribbble with a real-looking preview.

Good to know

  • Made by Mockup Cloud. The download size and format are listed on their page.
  • Check the smart object size before you design, so your artwork fits without stretching.
  • Some free mockups ask for credit when you post them. A short line in your caption is enough.

Questions about this mockup

What licence does it come with?

It's free to download, but the licence belongs to Mockup Cloud. Check their page: it states whether commercial use is allowed and if attribution is needed.

How do I add my design?

Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.

Which Photoshop version do I need?

A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.

Is the design wrapped around the shape?

Round packs usually use warp or displacement so the label bends with the shape. Flat boxes use separate smart objects for each visible side.

Why does the download open another website?

We list free files from designers around the web and link to the original page, so Mockup Cloud gets the visit and you get the file exactly as they published it.
