Here’s a pocket folder mockup that works well for a presentation folder, a report cover and similar projects.

Useful for real estate firms as much as for corporate designers. Quick tip: dark designs often look flat on paper mockups. Turning the highlight layer up slightly brings back the sheen.

Print jobs are expensive to redo, so a realistic preview before the order goes out is cheap insurance. If you’re building a full identity, pair it with an envelope or letterhead mockup for a matching set.

Credit goes to Zippypixels. We link to their download page rather than re-uploading the file, so check their terms there before commercial use.

Editable options in the Pocket Folder Mockup PSD

Open it in Photoshop and you can change:

  • Your design, placed through the smart object
  • Shadows and highlights on their own layers
  • Front and back artwork, where both sides are shown
  • Paper texture you can turn up or down

How to edit this Pocket Folder Mockup in Photoshop

  1. Set up the design flat at the real print size and keep text inside a safe margin.
  2. Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
  3. Paste your design, resize it to fill the area, then save (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close that tab.
  4. Change the background or paper colour with the colour layer.
  5. Export a full-size image for your portfolio and a smaller one for social media.

Worth remembering: keep text at least a few millimetres from the edge. The mockup shows the trim, and cramped margins read as a mistake.

Questions about this mockup

Can I use this folder mockup for client work?

That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.

How do I put my artwork on the folder?

Find the smart object layer (it has a small icon on its thumbnail), double-click it, place your design, then save and close that tab.

Do I need Photoshop?

Yes. This is a PSD mockup built with smart objects, so you edit it in Adobe Photoshop. Any recent CC version works.

Will my artwork look printed or pasted on?

Most print mockups keep the paper texture and lighting on separate layers above your design, so it takes on the grain and shadows. If it still looks too clean, lower the opacity of your artwork a little.
