Paper Tape Mockups
What's inside

Presenting branded packing tape? Put it on this paper tape mockup and the client sees the real thing, not a flat file. The paper finish gives the preview a tactile look that flat artwork doesn’t have.
Useful for stationery designers as much as for e-commerce brands. One thing worth knowing: change the background colour to your brand palette; it does more for the final image than people expect.
Merch and gift ideas are much easier to approve when people can see them on the real object.
The file is made by Hellomocku. The download button takes you to their page, where you get the original file and the licence details.
What’s inside the Paper Tape Mockups PSD
Everything below is on its own layer:
- Logo or artwork, placed through the smart object
- Background colour
- Object colour, where included
How to use the Paper Tape Mockups
- Export your logo or artwork as a PNG with transparency.
- Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
- Drop your artwork in, fit it to the canvas, save and close. The mockup updates by itself.
- Adjust the shadow so the object sits on the surface.
- Export a full-size image for your portfolio and a smaller one for social media.
One more thing: use a PNG with transparency for logos so the material around them keeps its texture.
Where the Paper Tape Mockups works best
- Use it as the cover image for a washi tape pattern in your portfolio.
- Present branded packing tape in a client proposal or brand guide.
- Show a washi tape pattern to a client before it goes to print or production.
Good to know
- Made by Hellomocku. The download size and format are listed on their page.
- Some free mockups ask for credit when you post them. A short line in your caption is enough.
- Check the licence on the author’s page. Personal and commercial terms differ from file to file.
- Built for Adobe Photoshop. A recent CC version handles the smart objects best.

Questions about this mockup
Can I use this tape mockup for client work?
Hellomocku sets the licence, and it can differ from file to file. Many free files allow personal and commercial use, but some are personal-only or ask for credit. Read the terms on the download page before a paid project.
How do I add my design?
Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.
Which Photoshop version do I need?
A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.
Can I change the background?
Most object mockups have a background colour or image layer at the bottom of the stack that you can swap.
