Snacks Packing Mockup

What's inside

  • Applications Photoshop
  • File Types PSD
  • License Free (see author's terms)
  • Author Mockup Plus

Presenting a chips bag design? Put it on this snacks packing mockup and the client sees the real thing, not a flat file.

Useful for snack brands as much as for students in packaging courses. A small tip: build the label or dieline flat first, then place it; bending text inside the mockup is harder to fix later.

Packaging is judged on the shelf in a couple of seconds, so seeing the design on the real shape tells you more than the flat dieline ever will. A matching label or sticker mockup rounds out the set.

Credit goes to Mockup Plus. We link to their download page rather than re-uploading the file, so check their terms there before commercial use.

What’s inside the Snacks Packing Mockup PSD

Everything below is on its own layer:

  • Label or box artwork, placed through the smart object
  • Shadows
  • Base colour of the pack

How to edit this Snacks Packing Mockup in Photoshop

  1. Build the label or box art flat, panel by panel.
  2. Open the file in Photoshop and double-click the smart object thumbnail in the Layers panel.
  3. Place your design, hide the sample artwork, save, and go back to the main file.
  4. Change the base colour of the pack.
  5. Export a full-size image for your portfolio and a smaller one for social media.

Another tip: check barcodes, weights and small legal text at 100% zoom. Packaging clients always look for those.

Questions about this mockup

Is it free for commercial use?

That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.

How do I add my design?

Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.

Do I need Photoshop?

Yes. This is a PSD mockup built with smart objects, so you edit it in Adobe Photoshop. Any recent CC version works.

Can I change the packaging colour?

Usually yes. There is normally a colour layer under the design smart object, so you can change the base colour without touching your artwork.

Why does the download open another website?

We list free files from designers around the web and link to the original page, so Mockup Plus gets the visit and you get the file exactly as they published it.
