Ringed Notepads Mockup
What's inside
- Applications Photoshop
- File Types PSD
- License Free (see author's terms)
- Author Pixeden
Here’s a ringed notepads mockup that works well for a branded cover, a planner design and similar projects.
Useful for Etsy sellers as much as for corporate gift designers. Tip: keep text at least a few millimetres from the edge. The mockup shows the trim, and cramped margins read as a mistake.
Seeing a layout on a real notebook is also the easiest way to catch problems early. A phone number that looked fine on screen can turn out too small once it sits on paper.
Use it for
- A branded cover
- A planner design
- A journal cover
The file is made by Pixeden. The download button takes you to their page, where you get the original file and the licence details.
What you can edit in this Ringed Notepads Mockup
Main things you can change in Photoshop:
- Your design, placed through the smart object
- Paper texture you can turn up or down
- Shadows and highlights on their own layers
How to edit this Ringed Notepads Mockup in Photoshop
- Get your artwork ready at print size, with 1/8 inch of bleed if it runs to the edge.
- In the Layers panel, find the layer with the small smart object icon and double-click it.
- Place your design, hide the sample artwork, save, and go back to the main file.
- Change the background or paper colour with the colour layer.
- Save a JPG for clients and social media, and keep the PSD for later changes.
One more thing: export your artwork at the size the smart object asks for; scaling a small file up is the usual reason print mockups look soft.
Ways to use this Ringed Notepads Mockup
- Show a journal cover on your online shop or product page.
- Share a planner design on Instagram, Behance or Dribbble with a real-looking preview.

Questions about this mockup
What licence does it come with?
It's free to download, but the licence belongs to Pixeden. Check their page: it states whether commercial use is allowed and if attribution is needed.
How do I add my design?
Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.
Which Photoshop version do I need?
A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.
Can I show both sides?
It depends on the file. Many print mockups include a front and a back smart object; the preview usually shows whether both sides are visible.
