Notebook PSD Mockup
What's inside

If you’re presenting a planner design, this notebook mockup makes the idea feel real before anything is produced.
Good pick for corporate gift designers, Etsy sellers or anyone putting together a portfolio. Tip: keep text at least a few millimetres from the edge. The mockup shows the trim, and cramped margins read as a mistake.
Print jobs are expensive to redo, so a realistic preview before the order goes out is cheap insurance.
Use it for
- A planner design

What’s inside the Notebook Mockup PSD
Main things you can change in Photoshop:
- Your design, placed through the smart object
- Paper or background colour
- Paper texture you can turn up or down
- Shadows and highlights on their own layers
Add your design to the Notebook Mockup
- Get your artwork ready at print size, with 1/8 inch of bleed if it runs to the edge.
- Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
- Place your design, hide the sample artwork, save, and go back to the main file.
- Export with File › Export › Export As: JPG for sharing, PNG for the web.
Worth remembering: dark designs often look flat on paper mockups. Turning the highlight layer up slightly brings back the sheen.
Where the Notebook Mockup works best
- Show a journal cover to a client before it goes to print or production.
- Make two or three colour versions of a planner design and let the client pick.
- Present a branded cover in a client proposal or brand guide.

Questions about this mockup
Can I use this notebook mockup for client work?
That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.
How do I add my design?
Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.
Which Photoshop version do I need?
A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.
Can I show both sides?
It depends on the file. Many print mockups include a front and a back smart object; the preview usually shows whether both sides are visible.
