Need to show a company logo to a client? This retro mug mockup does the job in a few minutes.
It’s a handy file for print-on-demand sellers and gift shops. Quick tip: if the file lets you change the lid or sleeve colour, match it to your brand; it pulls the image together.
Cafés and coffee brands use renders like this for menus, social posts and supplier pitches. Pair it with a coffee bag or menu mockup for a complete café presentation.

Editable options in the Retro Mug Mockup PSD
The PSD is layered, so you can change:
- Logo or pattern, placed through the smart object
- Background colour
- Highlights on the curve
Add your design to the Retro Mug Mockup
- Centre your design on the side that faces the viewer.
- Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
- Drop your artwork in, fit it to the canvas, save and close. The mockup updates by itself.
- Export a full-size image for your portfolio and a smaller one for social media.
One more thing: try your design on both a light and dark cup colour before choosing one for the final render.
Where the Retro Mug Mockup works best
- Make two or three colour versions of a company logo and let the client pick.
- Show an illustration to a client before it goes to print or production.
- Share a quote print on Instagram, Behance or Dribbble with a real-looking preview.
Quick notes on this mockup

- Some free mockups ask for credit when you post them. A short line in your caption is enough.
- Built for Adobe Photoshop. A recent CC version handles the smart objects best.

Questions about this mockup
Is it free for commercial use?
Mockups Design sets the licence, and it can differ from file to file. Many free files allow personal and commercial use, but some are personal-only or ask for credit. Read the terms on the download page before a paid project.
How do I add my design?
Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.
Do I need Photoshop?
Yes. This is a PSD mockup built with smart objects, so you edit it in Adobe Photoshop. Any recent CC version works.
Will my logo follow the curve?
Curved-surface mockups use a warp or displacement so the print bends with the cup. Keep key text in the middle, where the curve distorts it least.
