Need to show a mailer box to a client? This craft paper box mockup does the job in a few minutes. Because it’s paper, the material shows through a little, which keeps the result believable.
Subscription box companies and e-commerce brands tend to get the most out of files like this. One thing worth knowing: build the label or dieline flat first, then place it; bending text inside the mockup is harder to fix later.
A realistic render saves a round of physical samples, which for packaging can take weeks.
Works well for
- A mailer box
- Product packaging
- A gift box design

Craft Paper Box Mockup: editable parts
Everything below is on its own layer:
- Label or box artwork, placed through the smart object
- Gloss and highlight layers
- Background colour
Editing the Craft Paper Box Mockup, step by step
- Finish the label first, with barcode and small print in place.
- Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
- Paste your design, resize it to fill the area, then save (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close that tab.
- Export a full-size image for your portfolio and a smaller one for social media.
One more thing: check barcodes, weights and small legal text at 100% zoom. Packaging clients always look for those.

Questions about this mockup
Is it free for commercial use?
That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.
How do I put my artwork on the box?
Find the smart object layer (it has a small icon on its thumbnail), double-click it, place your design, then save and close that tab.
Which Photoshop version do I need?
A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.
Is the design wrapped around the shape?
Round packs usually use warp or displacement so the label bends with the shape. Flat boxes use separate smart objects for each visible side.
