Credit Card Mockup

What's inside

  • Applications Photoshop
  • File Types PSD
  • License Free (see author's terms)
  • Author Free PSD Templates

This credit card mockup is one of the simpler ways to present an ID badge or a bank or gift card convincingly.

Corporate designers and event teams tend to get the most out of files like this. Tip: use CMYK-friendly colours in the artwork itself, even though the mockup is RGB, so what the client sees is close to print.

It also makes a good cover image for a Behance or Dribbble post, where the first thumbnail decides whether anyone clicks.

Use it for

  • An ID badge
  • A bank or gift card
  • A membership card

Free PSD Templates created this one and hosts the download on their own site, so you always get the latest version straight from the source.

What’s inside the Credit Card Mockup PSD

Everything below is on its own layer:

  • Your design, placed through the smart object
  • Paper or background colour
  • Paper texture you can turn up or down
  • Front and back artwork, where both sides are shown

Editing the Credit Card Mockup, step by step

  1. Export your artwork as a high-resolution PNG or JPG, around 300 ppi at print size.
  2. Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
  3. Paste your design, resize it to fill the area, then save (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close that tab.
  4. Turn the texture layer up or down to match the paper you’ll print on.
  5. Save a JPG for clients and social media, and keep the PSD for later changes.

Another tip: dark designs often look flat on paper mockups. Turning the highlight layer up slightly brings back the sheen.

Ways to use this Credit Card Mockup

  • Show a bank or gift card to a client before it goes to print or production.
  • Share an ID badge on Instagram, Behance or Dribbble with a real-looking preview.
  • Present a membership card in a client proposal or brand guide.

Quick notes on this mockup

  • Made by Free PSD Templates. The download size and format are listed on their page.
  • Built for Adobe Photoshop. A recent CC version handles the smart objects best.
  • Some free mockups ask for credit when you post them. A short line in your caption is enough.
  • Check the smart object size before you design, so your artwork fits without stretching.

Questions about this mockup

What licence does it come with?

Free PSD Templates sets the licence, and it can differ from file to file. Many free files allow personal and commercial use, but some are personal-only or ask for credit. Read the terms on the download page before a paid project.

How do I add my design?

Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.

Do I need Photoshop?

Yes. This is a PSD mockup built with smart objects, so you edit it in Adobe Photoshop. Any recent CC version works.

Will my artwork look printed or pasted on?

Most print mockups keep the paper texture and lighting on separate layers above your design, so it takes on the grain and shadows. If it still looks too clean, lower the opacity of your artwork a little.

Why does the download open another website?

We list free files from designers around the web and link to the original page, so Free PSD Templates gets the visit and you get the file exactly as they published it.
