Flat Branding Mockup

What's inside

  • Applications Photoshop
  • File Types PSD
  • License Free (see author's terms)
  • Author Mockupriver

If you’re presenting a brand guideline cover, this flat branding mockup makes the idea feel real before anything is produced.

Design students and branding studios tend to get the most out of files like this. Use the same margins on every item in the set; it’s the detail that makes an identity look designed rather than assembled.

Print jobs are expensive to redo, so a realistic preview before the order goes out is cheap insurance. For a complete brand board, show it next to a business card and a notebook.

Works well for

  • A brand guideline cover
  • Letterhead, card and envelope
  • A full brand identity

This is a free file from Mockupriver. When you click download you’ll land on their page to grab it.

Editable options in the Flat Branding Mockup PSD

Everything below is on its own layer:

  • Your design, placed through the smart object
  • Paper or background colour
  • Front and back artwork, where both sides are shown

Add your design to the Flat Branding Mockup

  1. Export your artwork as a high-resolution PNG or JPG, around 300 ppi at print size.
  2. Open the file in Photoshop and double-click the smart object thumbnail in the Layers panel.
  3. Paste your design, resize it to fill the area, then save (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close that tab.
  4. Turn the texture layer up or down to match the paper you’ll print on.
  5. Export with File › Export › Export As: JPG for sharing, PNG for the web.

Worth remembering: export your artwork at the size the smart object asks for; scaling a small file up is the usual reason print mockups look soft.

Questions about this mockup

What licence does it come with?

That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.

How do I put my artwork on the stationery set?

Find the smart object layer (it has a small icon on its thumbnail), double-click it, place your design, then save and close that tab.

Do I need Photoshop?

Yes. This is a PSD mockup built with smart objects, so you edit it in Adobe Photoshop. Any recent CC version works.

Can I show both sides?

It depends on the file. Many print mockups include a front and a back smart object; the preview usually shows whether both sides are visible.
