Folded Newspaper Mockup
What's inside
- Applications Photoshop
- File Types PSD
- License Free (see author's terms)
- Author Mockup Nest
If you’re presenting a front page, this folded newspaper mockup makes the idea feel real before anything is produced.
Useful for editorial designers as much as for ad agencies. Use CMYK-friendly colours in the artwork itself, even though the mockup is RGB, so what the client sees is close to print.
It also makes a good cover image for a Behance or Dribbble post, where the first thumbnail decides whether anyone clicks.
Mockup Nest created this one and hosts the download on their own site, so you always get the latest version straight from the source.
Editable options in the Folded Newspaper Mockup PSD
Everything below is on its own layer:
- Your design, placed through the smart object
- Paper or background colour
- Paper texture you can turn up or down
- Front and back artwork, where both sides are shown
How to edit this Folded Newspaper Mockup in Photoshop
- Get your artwork ready at print size, with 1/8 inch of bleed if it runs to the edge.
- Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
- Paste your design, resize it to fill the area, then save (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close that tab.
- Tweak the shadow and highlight layers to suit your colours.
- Export with File › Export › Export As: JPG for sharing, PNG for the web.
Dark designs often look flat on paper mockups. Turning the highlight layer up slightly brings back the sheen.

- Built for Adobe Photoshop. A recent CC version handles the smart objects best.
- Check the smart object size before you design, so your artwork fits without stretching.
- Some free mockups ask for credit when you post them. A short line in your caption is enough.

Questions about this mockup
Can I use this newspaper mockup for client work?
That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.
How do I put my artwork on the newspaper?
Find the smart object layer (it has a small icon on its thumbnail), double-click it, place your design, then save and close that tab.
Do I need Photoshop?
Yes. This is a PSD mockup built with smart objects, so you edit it in Adobe Photoshop. Any recent CC version works.
Will my artwork look printed or pasted on?
Most print mockups keep the paper texture and lighting on separate layers above your design, so it takes on the grain and shadows. If it still looks too clean, lower the opacity of your artwork a little.
Why does the download open another website?
We list free files from designers around the web and link to the original page, so Mockup Nest gets the visit and you get the file exactly as they published it.
