This ID badge holder mockup is one of the simpler ways to present a bank or gift card or a membership card convincingly.
Event teams and fintech brands tend to get the most out of files like this. Quick tip: use CMYK-friendly colours in the artwork itself, even though the mockup is RGB, so what the client sees is close to print.
Clients sign off faster when they can picture the finished piece, and a flat PDF rarely does that as well as a photo of the card. If you’re building a full identity, pair it with an envelope or letterhead mockup for a matching set.
Mockups Design created this one and hosts the download on their own site, so you always get the latest version straight from the source.
What you can edit in this ID Badge Holder Mockup
Everything below is on its own layer:
- Your design, placed through the smart object
- Front and back artwork, where both sides are shown
- Paper or background colour
- Shadows and highlights on their own layers
Add your design to the ID Badge Holder Mockup
- Export your artwork as a high-resolution PNG or JPG, around 300 ppi at print size.
- Open the file in Photoshop and double-click the smart object thumbnail in the Layers panel.
- Place your design, hide the sample artwork, save, and go back to the main file.
- Export a full-size image for your portfolio and a smaller one for social media.
One more thing: if the paper has texture, drop the opacity of your art by a few percent so the grain shows through.

Questions about this mockup
Can I use this card mockup for client work?
It's free to download, but the licence belongs to Mockups Design. Check their page: it states whether commercial use is allowed and if attribution is needed.
How do I add my design?
Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.
Which Photoshop version do I need?
A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.
Will my artwork look printed or pasted on?
Most print mockups keep the paper texture and lighting on separate layers above your design, so it takes on the grain and shadows. If it still looks too clean, lower the opacity of your artwork a little.
Why does the download open another website?
We list free files from designers around the web and link to the original page, so Mockups Design gets the visit and you get the file exactly as they published it.
