Isometric Mug Mockup

What's inside

  • Applications Photoshop
  • File Types PSD
  • License Free (see author's terms)

An illustration looks better on an isometric mug mockup than on a white artboard, and this mockup is set up for exactly that.

It’s a handy file for corporate merch teams and gift shops. One thing worth knowing: mug prints wrap around; if the preview shows one side, keep the design centred on that side.

Cafés and coffee brands use renders like this for menus, social posts and supplier pitches. Pair it with a coffee bag or menu mockup for a complete café presentation.

Credit goes to Creatoom. We link to their download page rather than re-uploading the file, so check their terms there before commercial use.

What’s inside the Isometric Mug Mockup PSD

Main things you can change in Photoshop:

  • Logo or pattern, placed through the smart object
  • Background colour
  • Cup, lid or sleeve colour

Editing the Isometric Mug Mockup, step by step

  1. Centre your design on the side that faces the viewer.
  2. Open the PSD in Photoshop and find the smart object layer, usually named “Your Design” or “Place Here”.
  3. Paste your design, resize it to fill the area, then save (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close that tab.
  4. Export a full-size image for your portfolio and a smaller one for social media.

One more thing: if the file lets you change the lid or sleeve colour, match it to your brand; it pulls the image together.

Where the Isometric Mug Mockup works best

  • Use it as the cover image for a quote print in your portfolio.
  • Show a company logo to a client before it goes to print or production.
  • Make two or three colour versions of an illustration and let the client pick.

Good to know

  • Made by Creatoom. The download size and format are listed on their page.
  • Check the licence on the author’s page. Personal and commercial terms differ from file to file.
  • The preview shows the angle, background and lighting you’ll get.
  • Built for Adobe Photoshop. A recent CC version handles the smart objects best.

Questions about this mockup

What licence does it come with?

That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.

How do I put my artwork on the mug?

Find the smart object layer (it has a small icon on its thumbnail), double-click it, place your design, then save and close that tab.

Which Photoshop version do I need?

A recent Photoshop CC version is best. Older versions can open the file but sometimes have trouble with smart objects and effects.

Will my logo follow the curve?

Curved-surface mockups use a warp or displacement so the print bends with the cup. Keep key text in the middle, where the curve distorts it least.

Why does the download open another website?

We list free files from designers around the web and link to the original page, so Creatoom gets the visit and you get the file exactly as they published it.
