Socks Mockup
What's inside
- Applications Photoshop
- File Types PSD
- License Free (see author's terms)
- Author Free PSD Templates
A socks mockup, made for presenting an all-over pattern. Drop in your artwork and the lighting and shadows stay as they are.
Useful for gift shops as much as for print-on-demand sellers. Tip: keep chest prints around a third of the shirt width. Oversized art looks unrealistic on a folded or worn garment.
It’s also useful before a print run, to check how large the design should really be on the garment. Add a hoodie or sweatshirt shot next to it and you have a basic collection page.
Works well for
- An all-over pattern
- A cuff logo
- A seasonal design

Socks Mockup: editable parts
Main things you can change in Photoshop:
- Print design, placed through the smart object
- Folds and wrinkles that wrap your print
- Fabric colour
- Shadows and highlights
Editing the Socks Mockup, step by step
- Decide where the design sits on the item and size your art for that spot.
- In the Layers panel, find the layer with the small smart object icon and double-click it.
- Drop your artwork in, fit it to the canvas, save and close. The mockup updates by itself.
- Try a light and a dark fabric to see which suits the print.
- Export with File › Export › Export As: JPG for sharing, PNG for the web.
Another tip: place the design as a flat PNG with a transparent background, then let the fabric displacement do the folds.
Where the Socks Mockup works best
- Show a cuff logo on your online shop or product page.
- Show an all-over pattern to a client before it goes to print or production.
- Use it as the cover image for a seasonal design in your portfolio.

Questions about this mockup
What licence does it come with?
That depends on the author's terms. The download page lists what is allowed; when in doubt, ask the author directly.
How do I put my artwork on the socks?
Find the smart object layer (it has a small icon on its thumbnail), double-click it, place your design, then save and close that tab.
Do I need Photoshop?
Yes. This is a PSD mockup built with smart objects, so you edit it in Adobe Photoshop. Any recent CC version works.
Does the print follow the fabric folds?
Better apparel mockups use a displacement map or warp so the print follows the wrinkles. Check the preview: if the folds show through the logo, it does.
