If you’re presenting letterhead, card and envelope, this black stationery mockup makes the idea feel real before anything is produced.

Good pick for design students, freelance designers or anyone putting together a portfolio. One thing worth knowing: use the same margins on every item in the set; it’s the detail that makes an identity look designed rather than assembled.

It also makes a good cover image for a Behance or Dribbble post, where the first thumbnail decides whether anyone clicks. For a complete brand board, show it next to a business card and a notebook.

This is a free file from Pixelbuddha. When you click download you’ll land on their page to grab it.

What you can edit in this Black Stationery Mockup

Main things you can change in Photoshop:

  • Your design, placed through the smart object
  • Paper texture you can turn up or down
  • Paper or background colour

Editing the Black Stationery Mockup, step by step

  1. Get your artwork ready at print size, with 3 mm of bleed if it runs to the edge.
  2. Open the file in Photoshop and double-click the smart object thumbnail in the Layers panel.
  3. Paste your design, resize it to fill the area, then save (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close that tab.
  4. Save a JPG for clients and social media, and keep the PSD for later changes.

Keep text at least a few millimetres from the edge. The mockup shows the trim, and cramped margins read as a mistake.

Ways to use this Black Stationery Mockup

  • Share a brand guideline cover on Instagram, Behance or Dribbble with a real-looking preview.
  • Show a full brand identity to a client before it goes to print or production.
  • Make two or three colour versions of letterhead, card and envelope and let the client pick.

Good to know

  • Made by Pixelbuddha. The download size and format are listed on their page.

Questions about this mockup

Is it free for commercial use?

Pixelbuddha sets the licence, and it can differ from file to file. Many free files allow personal and commercial use, but some are personal-only or ask for credit. Read the terms on the download page before a paid project.

How do I add my design?

Open the file in Photoshop, double-click the smart object thumbnail, paste or place your artwork in the new tab, save it (Ctrl/Cmd + S) and close. The main file updates on its own.

Do I need Photoshop?

Yes. This is a PSD mockup built with smart objects, so you edit it in Adobe Photoshop. Any recent CC version works.

Can I show both sides?

It depends on the file. Many print mockups include a front and a back smart object; the preview usually shows whether both sides are visible.
